    Thursday 11th March, 2010
    (IANS)

More than 100 firefighters were tackling a blaze in a four-storey building in east London Thursday.

The fire spread to the top of the building, which houses a restaurant and office block at Tabernacle Street, Shoreditch. However, no casualty was reported.

The flames were said to be burning strongest on the second and third floors, engulfing half of the roof, the London Fire Brigade said.

The fire brigade said firefighters will be tackling the blaze for a while longer but they have managed to stop it spreading, Sky News reported.

The Metropolitan Police said a number of roads in the area have been closed and rescuers were called to the spot where 20 fire engines were involved in extinguishing the fire.
