    Six in ten Americans think country is on decline as civilization: Poll

    American voters are of the opinion that the country is 'on the decline' as a civilization, according to a Fox News/ Opinion Dynamics Corporation poll.

    Sixty-two percent of the voters think that United States is on the decline, while only 26 percent believe that it is on the rise.

    Seventy-six percent Republicans think that the country is in decline, and 64 percent of independents agree. Views among Democrats are more evenly split with 41 percent agreeing on the rise while 43 percent say it is on the decline.

    There is a slight gender gap as 64 percent men compared to 59 percent women believe has a negative view of the country's progress.

    Fifty eight per cent of the young voters, 35 years and under, and 57 percent of seniors, 65 and over, think things are on a downward slide. (ANI)
